Introduction to Sugar Art I - Pulled & Poured Sugar

Instructor: Cinny Moreno-Travis

Pulled sugar is a beautiful art form making glass-like decorations. In this basic class you will learn to “cook” sugar, using a sugar substitute called Isomalt. Students make pulled sugar roses and leaves and will be shown how to use silicone molds with pulled and poured sugar. Student will create their own “Sugar Show Piece” to take home.

IMPORTANT INFO: Working with hot sugar is dangerous! All possible safety precautions will be shown and taken to ensure your safety. However students are responsible for their own safety and will be asked to sign a hold harmless waiver for Spun Sugar and the instructor. Open flames and heat lamps are used so you may expect to have small blisters on your hands and fingers, even when using gloves. This art form is not for the timid or faint of heart, but when executed correctly the results are magnificent.
